In a few words.
As a child, family appropriate fun was Good Clean Fun. It is only appropriate that family appropriate food should be Good Clean Food. So here it is. We are moms. Moms that made that a hard decision to stay home. For different reasons (maybe we like the challenge or the health benefits, or maybe we're just plain weird), we've all decided to take care of our families using the best and most real foods we can find. We grow it, we grind it, we can it, we bake it, and we even sometimes eat it. We focus the good food we make for babies big and little. We also might talk about the challenges that arise from the choices we have made. We can do better for less with little work, and it is absolutely worth it. -
Amanda
A mom of one crazy toddler boy that chose to stay home rather than practice law. Married to an environmental engineer, and with a horticulture degree of my own, we love everything natural, and so I try to feed my family that way too. I honestly believe there are very few limits to what we can accomplish if we are willing to put in the work (that's the really hard part). -
Erika
A stay-at-home-mom of two boys whose meals in newlywed days consisted of macaroni and cheese, totinos, scrambled eggs and instant oatmeal. Yikes! After 8 years of practice and obsessive recipe collecting, I am now a relatively decent, health-conscious, somewhat experimental cook who likes to keep things as simple as possible. -
The Alchemist
The Alchemist: one who manipulates basic elements in hopes of gaining gold (family, garden and self). I’m a SAHM to DD6 and DS2 with a wonderful cooking husband. We live in CA, just outside of SF, so gardening can be year-round. In one of my past lives (pre-kids), I was a massage therapist, which taught me about the healthy connection between the self, the body and the surrounding world. Now I’m trying to find that connection again. 01/09. -
