WWE: Company is Coming

With company coming, how do you save on your grocery bill? As I prepare a large dinner for at least 6 adult guests plus our family, I have three goals: inexpensive, high quality, and make ahead dishes (majorly important since we will be skiing all day before company comes!)
Here’s the Menu:

Quick Links: Grow Your Own

Jen here. I just ran across this really fun blog event called “Grow Your Own” where bloggers post recipes and experiences cooking with their home grown produce.  It happens twice a month and it looks like it’s been going on for a while. I look forward to seeing what comes next.  I certainly [...]

I love a slow cooker for a billion reasons. Okay, maybe not that many because I’m not sure I’ve lived long enough to have a billion reasons for anything. But I like a slow cooker because it eliminates dinner stress. I hate thinking about dinner all day, and then come 4pm when my son is [...]

Greek Yogurt for Dessert

Melanie here and it’s time for my first post as I finally found something worthy of your time.
I’m a serious sugarholic and would normally shudder at the thought of a healthy dessert.  Before this week,  I was certain they did not exsit.
Thanks to my friend Teresa, I now have a new favorite dessert, [...]

Because we are mothers

I posted this on my family blog and found that it struck a chord with a lot of women. So I wanted to share it here. It’s a shame we often find ourselves feeling so alone when in reality, we are likely feeling very much the same as other mothers.
I know this will not apply [...]
