I just got this from the library and will begin experimenting soon.
I love cook books, and that’s usually how I cook. I love experimenting, but I get sick of throwing food away, and cookbooks are fun for me. So I want to start making a list of the ones I have and sort of reviewing them. I will try to “review” some on the main page as I get to them.
Next to me on the table are four that I look through frequently. That doesn’t mean they are the best, but they are good dinner ones:
1. 2, 4, 6, 8 – Rachael Ray
2. The America’s Test Kitchen Family Cookbook – I use this one A LOT. It has the best baked potato technique in it, as well as a great pizza dough and pizza sauce.
3. Moosewood Restaurant New Classics by the Moosewood Collective
4. Moosweood Restuarant Cooks at Home by the Moosewood Collective.

Just got “The America’s Test Kitchen Family Cookbook” at Costco today. Will have to look through it. Maybe next time we’ll get the baking one. One thing at a time.
Do you suppose there’s any particular reason that all the section tabs are at the back of the book? Is there something about that technique that’s “tested” out better than others? I guess there’s “some assembly required.”
