This recipe is our yearly Christmas morning breakfast. It is a favorite for our whole family.
Holiday Morning French Toast
3 Tart Apples, peeled and sliced thin
1 c. brown sugar (or 1/2 c.)
1/2 c. melted butter
3 tsp. cinnamon divided 1:2
1/2 c. raisins or dried cranberries
1 loaf of french bread in 1 in. slices
1 1/2 c. milk
1 Tbl. Vanilla
Grease 9 x 13 pan. Combine brown sugar, butter, and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Put mixture in pan, add apples and cranberries and coat. Lay bread on top. Mix rest of the ingredients and pour over bread evenly. Refrigerate 4-24 hour.
Bake at 350 degrees 40 minutes covered and 5 minutes uncovered. Let sit at least 5 minutes before covering.
