Lululemon Giveaway and Vegan Sun-Dried Tomato and Kalamata Olive Bread

It’s Somer Saturday and I’m so excited about today’s giveaway that I’m letting you know about it before I give you my bread recipe, If you know how much I love bread, you know this is a pretty big deal. A friend recently asked me: “Is it true that cute running clothes make you faster?” I told her yes, and they make you stronger too! Now here’s the catch…. I have one Lululemon Run For All Skirt, new with tags, in a size 4 for this giveaway. Now if any of you ladies or gentleman wear lulu skirts, you know that the size 4 is equivalent to a U.S. extra small. Size chart here if you need to measure! So I’m sorry that this isn’t a gift card or something that can be exchanged for a different size. I do know however, that this particular Lulu skirt sold out within hours online and hasn’t been offered again. I also know that even though it retailed for somewhere around $60 bucks,  it has been selling for close to $100 bucks on ebay (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). So if you win, surely you or can rock it or give it to a teeny-tiny-sassy-lulu-lover, or, you can hawk it. I won’t tell.

  1. Woot for bread makers! I made cinnamon raisin nut bread for my breakfast all week. Sundried tomoatoes and olies sounds like dinner bread! Do you soak the sun-dried tomaotes in water before slicing them?

    Thanks!

    • Somer and Amanda both make AMAZING breads. I have yet to master the art of the loaf, but there is a cinnamon quick bread in a much earlier post that is delish (check the recipe page.) And I want your recipe!

    • Love my breadmaker, it’s ancient and I bought it at a thrift store for $10. I’m thinking that I’m going to have to do cinnamon raisin now, as if there’s not enough bread in this house all ready….

I ate the sun-dried and kalamata olive bread this morning toasted for breakfast along side a green smoothie, but yes, it works as sandwich bread, as dinner bread, or as lovely toast! My sun-dried tomatoes were fairly pliable and pre-julliened. I chucked them and the whole pitted kalamata olives just the way they were. The kneading process breaks them down a bit into smaller pieces. Less work for me!

      Are you entering the giveaway?

    • Aerial arts? I’m totally going to have to google that one. Clueless. If it requires coordination, I’m not the girl for it. I’m amazed that I’ve figured out how to do one foot in front of the other for running. I could never do classes at the gym because I’d be the fool 10 steps behind everyone else!

And yes, I feel better working out in cute clothes too.

      Thanks for entering!

      • Anti-Gravity yoga is part Aerial arts part yoga, we will be doing this soon! It is what I am getting certified in next month

  2. I stay fit by running and chasing my kids! I also lift weights and try to eat healthy – lots of fruits and veggies.

    • Lots of chasing kids in this house too, I joke that it’s how I get my sprints and speed-work done. (I have a little fasty around here). Yay for eating healthy too!

      Thanks for entering!

  3. I sign up for insane races. 🙂 (Now that I’m in school I have to work harder to do this…but it’s still my favorite motivation to exercise) Cute clothes are a definite motivation as well…and I think they definitely make you run faster!:)

    • Yay! I never did get to talk to you about your antelope island run! It’s been too long! We need to get together. Oh and thanks for entering 😉

  4. love running with my husband in the early morning at the beach with my baby in the stroller

    • Beach!?! Lucky duck! I still push my 3 year old sometimes in the baby jogger if I’m too lazy to get in a run before he is up for the day. It’s awesome bonding time. He loves it and it makes me work extra hard!

      Thanks for entering!

  5. I love the look of your bread – I’m going to modify my beer bread recipe to make something similar. Or hack, I’m off this week, maybe I’ll make a few batches of this just as is and not be so lazy.

    • It’s super good! I had it toasted a couple days this week as well as with sandwiches. I’m sure it would be delightful modified in your beer bread too. That recipe looked way tasty!

      Woohoo for a week off!

    • Radical. I haven’t been snowboarding in years, waiting til the littles are a bit bigger before I start shredding the slopes again!

      Thanks for entering!

  6. Hey! Thanks for “liking” my latest blog post– excited to have found your blog (and giveaway). To get active, I grab my ipod and dog and head out for a run or a hike– sometimes, if I’m feeling crazy, I’ll do a trail run… (that was lame, I know…). I’m also a huge fan of pick-up sports: soccer, kick ball, frisbee, etc.

  7. I wish there was a giveaway for that bread! That looks so delicious- and I’m all over anything with sun-dried tomatoes!

To get active, I go to the gym and do 30-40 minutes of cardio and 20-30 minutes of strength training 4-5 days/week. I run about 6-10 miles 1-2 times/week. I also do yoga about 5-6 days per week. I could see that skirt coming in handy (if it fits)… 🙂

    • I need to do plain olives next time and double or triple the olives. Can’t have too much, in fact, the first time I had an incredible olive loaf was in Oz, which probably remained somewhere deep in my memory only to re-emerge to create this post!

  8. Chasing my kids around keeps me pretty active! That’s all I have time for at the moment. Ha! Does that count as activeness?? Maybe I could chase them wearing that cute running skirt. Or maybe it totally would never fit me. XS?? Uh, good gift though! 😉

    • Totally counts!!! BTW, the XS, is really like a 0-2 and the Small is like a 4-6. If you win, I may have options for you…. Xoxo! It would totally fit mini Hannah, or Mandy. And you’re right, it would make a great gift!

  10. Oh YAY bread and a giveway- that’s my girl!!

Okay so I am a follower of your blog- I tried to like the post but I can’t seem to generate a word press account to do so – something is wonky!

Okay as for running/active – we hike alot and run on an awesome wooded mountain trail called cobblestone – so much fun and I frequent the gym at least 4 times a week for strength training along with cardio – does gardening count too?

Love love olive bread, the sundried tomatoes are a bonus 🙂

    • Woohoo! Like noted, don’t worry about the button 😉

Awesome active comments and gardening definitely counts!

      I need more bread. I’m in a bread rut, but I can’t stop myself….

BTW, why can’t all blogging formats be the same. I have trouble commenting on your blog and don’t know how to get followup comments. If only it were more universal :/

      Thanks for entering!

    • That’s what I’m talking about!!! Carb on carb on beans on sun-dried tomato olive carbs. Can we count it as exercise? Wanna enter the giveaway for the skirt? It would look totally hot on Rhett if it doesn’t fit you…..

  11. 1. Delicious Bread (seriously yum). 2. I love you. 3. This skirt looks turbo hot (thanks good folk at Lulu). 4. I am a dedicated runner – tried all other things, but nothing else even comes close!
I think those are 4 great reasons why I win. Boom. 😉
    xoxxox

  12. I run (slowly!) and I do Tabata or BodyRock with my kiddo. I’m working on swimming. Not doggy-paddling–real swimming! 🙂 I’m not coordinated enough to get it down just yet, ha!
